This hand-carved wooden elephant sculpture, by Richard of the Gikomba Wood Carving Cooperative, adds the earthy and wild feel of safari lodge decor to your home. The natural jacaranda wood is left undyed, and after carving it is carefully accented with burnt detailing and tusks crafted from cow bone.
The elephant measures 10"L x 4"W x 6.5"T.
We work with an amazing wood cooperative in Kenya called the Gikomba Wood Carving Cooperative that consists of both young and old men who practice woodworking and painting in an open-air workshop. This environmentally responsible group takes great care to legally procure all types of African wood used in their products, and they are skilled at using all parts of the tree in their artwork.
