This unique example of handmade African art features six safari animals, sitting as friends at an Africa-shaped table that is hand-painted in animal prints. Each animal has its own tiny cup, and a carafe is shared by the group. A great gift for expressing friendship!

Each figurine is carved from sustainable jacaranda wood in Kenya, then hand-painted with detail. Figurines each measures 4.5" tall and the table measures 6" L. Due to the handcrafted nature of this item, some variation is expected.

About the Artisans:

We work with an amazing co-op in Kenya, the Gikomba Wood Carving Cooperative, a group of woodcarvers of all ages who work in an open-air workshop in Nairobi. This environmentally-responsible group takes care to legally procure all types of African wood used in their products, and they are skilled at using all parts of the tree in their artwork.

Kenyan artisans hand carve this lovable lion from soft soapstone, then hand dye with warm shades brown. The heart-shaped mane add some serious sweetness.
