This one-of-a-kind Tricephalous mask, with its striking three-face design, draws from the ceremonial traditions of the Lega people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Used in Bwami initiation rites — a moral and social system guiding personal growth — each face of the mask symbolize ancestral wisdom, spiritual awareness, and ethical values. As a symbol of insight and transformation, it makes a bold statement in any space.
This one of a kind mask was handcrafted by refugees from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, working in Kenya at the Gikomba Wood Carving Cooperative.
