Natural Textured Soapstone Sheep

Kenyan artisans hand carve this sweet sheep from soft natural soapstone. Using only a touch of black dye for the eyes, each sculpture shows the natural creamy coloration of soapstone and features a unique finish of textured and polished stone.

Sold singly. Because this is a handcrafted item made from natural stone, each will vary slightly.

About the Artisans:

Soapstone is mined in Kisii county in southwestern Kenya. We work with three different artisan groups in and around Nairobi who carve, polish and paint the stone to create beautiful pieces.
