Kenyan artisans transform colorful upcycled flip-flop foam into distinctive modern animal sculptures—like this Woodland Warthog—rather than allowing discarded flip flops to pile up on Nairobi's streets, natural areas, and waste sites. This unique art form has a positive impact on both the environment and the artisans.
Size: approximately 10"L x 2.5"W x 6"T . Each warthog sculpture is handmade and one-of-a-kind, and designs and colors will vary.
Upcycled sculptures are a colorful and eco-friendly way to recycle flip flops that would otherwise litter urban Nairobi or sit in landfills. We work directly with a small co-op of Kenyan artisans who collect, clean and transform foam footwear into bold modern safari art sculptures.
In Kenya, artisans convert discarded flip flops into one-of-a-kind art. Operating from a small Nairobi workshop, the dedicated group offers employment and creative opportunities while also keeping this reusable material from littering urban areas or clogging up landfills.
