This handmade box is carved from fragrant, African sandalwood. The top and sides of the box are smoothly sanded while the front retains the natural bark of the sandalwood tree.

A single mpgingo wood heart on the top adds meaning.

Santinho is a wood carving artist from Mozambique who works and resides in a carver community. He was born into a family heritage of carving, which has helped him to become one of Mozambique's most talented woodcarving artists. Santinho has a workshop on his home plot and frequently works with his brothers, Sergio and Mbanda.
