These hand-carved African sculptures are created using soapstone in the Tabaka Hills of western Kenya. In Nairobi, the rhinos are dyed to a rich red-orange color and then hand-etched with small lines.
The rhinos stand as a powerful memory of one's time in Africa while also showing your support for fair trade. Small rhino measures 4.5"L x 2.5"T and Large measures 6.5"L x 3"T.
Bosma's father once owned a thriving workshop in downtown Nairobi, and he taught Bosma the crafts of woodworking and carving soapstone. Following in his footsteps, Bosma and his sister Pamela continue to produce artworks of various mediums and also help other Kenyan craftspeople to export their works.
