These fun recycled art sculptures are made in Africa using discarded spark plugs and scrap metal. Each sculpture is coated with clear paint to prevent rusting and to add sheen.
The sculptures are free-standing and measure 6"-7"H. Spark plug color will vary. Makes a great gift!
The Ilboudo brothers lead a small team of metal artisans in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Originating from an artisan incubator known as Village Artisanal de Ouagadougou (VAO), the artists create a series of amusing portrayals of everyday life from spark plugs and recycled metal for both local sale and export. Their whimsical recycled art reflects the light-hearted nature of many Burkinabe people and appeals to collectors around the world.
