Kenyan artisans fashion this colorful bracelet by stringing beads and silver spacers around a lovely coiled silver-plated copper medallion, creating fun fashion jewelry with an African flair. A hook and eye closure completes the bracelet.
Measures 1"W x 7.5" from end to end.
First started as a garbage collection project in the slums of Nairobi, now young men and women of Zakali Jewelry work with Jedando Modern Handicrafts to produce handmade fair trade fashion jewelry using the skills of wire work and electroplating. Recycling remains very close to the heart of the project and much of the material used is reclaimed or recycled, including the cord found inside of tires, which is used to string beads.
