Depart from the ordinary with this solid olive wood serving spoon that features a weaving "puzzle" design on the spoon's base. This solid wood spoon is cut from a single piece of olive wood and is destined to be one of your favorite serving pieces for years to come.
Wild olive wood serving pieces are hand-carved by Kamba people living in the bush of Eastern Kenya. Special permits must be received to fell an olive wood tree, and the carvers make use of every inch of this prized wood. Often several artisans work on a single piece, with specialities in carving, smoothing, staining, and adding cow bone.
Measures 11.5” long x 3.25 spoon diameter. Due to the handcrafted nature of this item, slight variation may occur.
Made from wild olive wood. To care for this all-natural serving utensil, simply wash in warm water with a mild detergent.
We work with representatives of Kamba artists in Kenya to obtain these hand-carved works of beauty derived from the olive wood tree. The artisans benefit greatly from the sale of their works, with marked improvements being seen for the individual, their families, the community.
