Marvelous Batik is a workshop in Dar es Salaam that betters the lives of at-risk young women by teaching them new skills, helping them to be self-sustaining, and providing basic necessities. Run by a compassionate woman named Flotea Masawe, the cooperative is nationally recognized for their production of batik and embroidered cotton textiles. Pillows, table runners, duvet covers, bags, and curtain panels are just a few of the items currently exported by this talented group of women.
