Level Ground works with the HOPE Organic Project to pay farmers a fair price for their coffee crop, which makes up half of household incomes and is the only crop grown for export in the region. The African Bronze Honey Project is a for-profit, social enterprise B Corp, partnered with Forest Fruits of Zambia, committed to sustainable practice and preserving traditional heritage while creating economic opportunity for independent beekeepers and their families. Today, there are over 6,000 beekeepers trained and over 800 tonnes of organic, raw, wild honey exported every year.
Level Ground, in collaboration the Lima Ltd and the HOPE project, works with farming families to grow and export organic coffee. In 2010, Level Ground premiums helped fund healthcare for 178 members and their households (representing 675 people). Direct Fair Trade premiums from the sale of Level Ground coffee also helps to fund training in organic farming methods as well as soil and shade conservation.
