Large Stone and Metal Snowman Sculpture

Zimbabwean artist Luke Jimu combines textured pale springstone and recycled metal to portray this charming, snowy character. With the stick arms and carrot nose made from metal, each stone figure is depicted wearing a scarf and top hat.

Zimbabwean artist Luke Jimu and his team work with springstone, which is a prized dark stone that polishes to a high shine because of its density. Most springstone is sustainably sourced and is mined on communal lands for the purpose of sculpting.
