These African scarves are made from a hand-spun cotton that feels soft and natural against your skin.
The scarves are made by a single community of artisans called Ndem Maam Samba, who grow, card, dye, and weave cotton accessories. These dedicated artisans live in arid conditions and rely upon the sale of their cotton goods to support their village.
Each 70"L x 8"W scarf includes fringed ends and is easy to tie in a variety of styles.
Ndem Maam Samba is a community in the arid landscape of the Baol region, 75 miles outside of Dakar. The Ndem community performs work as a form of worship and have created a nearly self-sufficient community with 365 artisans in 17 workshops. The profits from their eco-friendly, homegrown clothing contributes dramatically to schools, clinics, reforested tracts, micro-credit, wells, and crops.
