About the Artisans:

We work with an amazing co-op in Kenya, the Gikomba Wood Carving Cooperative, a group of woodcarvers of all ages who work in an open-air workshop in Nairobi. This environmentally-responsible group takes care to legally procure all types of African wood used in their products, and they are skilled at using all parts of the tree in their artwork.

These darling chairs are woven in Senegal using plastic twine and welded metal frames by talented African weavers. A tightly knit herringbone stitch makes the chairs durable and firm.
