    To create Khoisan Seaweed Salt, spice artisans combine coriander seed, black peppercorns, thyme, mustard seed, bay leaf, garlic, onion, seaweed, oregano, cornflowers and chili. This extraordinary savory salt can be used in place of salt on the table or to bring the natural flavor enhancement of seaweed to meat, fish, salads, vegetables, rice, pasta, couscous, bulgar wheat, sauces, dressings, soups, stews, casseroles and eggs. Carefully assembled small batches are presented with beautifully adorned packaging that tells how each spice blend was inspired. Fresh flavor is released with every twist of the grinder and the spices can be used in Uvuka's collection of recipes

  • These fair trade spices were developed over the course of a decade by a culinary-minded traveler who recorded his experiences with food in Africa. Today, the spices are grown and packaged in South Africa, with a proceed going to the Fair Trade Trust for the education of the workers.

    Ukuva iAfrica works with Turqle Trading to produce Fair Trade spices and sauces of exceptional quality. Turqle is a member of WFTO (World Fair Trade Organization - www.wfto.com) and they ensure that producers maintain fair labour and wage practices. 2.5% of the export price of Ukuva products goes to the Fair Trade Trust for the education of the workers. The wire and beadwork is made by hand at Cape Mental Health Society.
